Eli was determined to get a good result when the day began in Las Vegas. Eli qualified 5th fastest early as everyone watched the clouds roll in. The rare torrential downpour began and the 450 A qualifying session was cut short. With water sitting on the track the industry agreed that would be
the last time the riders see the track before the racing began. Eli was placed in 450 Heat 2 and was considered a favorite to win in the muddy conditions. He got a great jump and came out 4th after the very rutty first turn. He was able to make the pass into third early on and that is where he finished. Eli was ready to end the season on a high note and when the 450 Main began, he got a bad start but he was determined to get a good finish in the Main. In just a few laps, Eli was able to come from 12th to 3rd and was one of the fastest riders on the track. Unfortunately the leaders had pulled away early and Eli would finish the season off with a podium in Las Vegas.
