Bill Hollenbeck came alive at the california classic going out and taking the 50+ A/B/c championship. The riders in the class might be the oldest on the track but their races were just as intense as ever. Hollenbeck put together 1-1-2 finishes but they were far from easy. In moto number one, he started in third and set his sights on rival Giovanni Spinali. He
stalked Spinali for the first three laps before making the pass for the lead. Hollenbeck tried to pull away but Spinali hung right with him until going down on the final lap. Spinali wanted to come out with a vengeance in the second moto and he would do just that. Hollenbeck however was ready to counter his attack and made the move around Spinali for the lead on lap two.
