MAXIMUS VOHLAND
The Vohland family name is one that is synonymous with motocross. Tyson and Tallon Vohland were
the first brothers to stand together on a Supercross podium. Tallon won AMA Supercross races, AMA
Nationals, as well as 125 and 250 GPs. His son Max honed his skills on a bicycle, winning 5 BMX nationals. Since making the move to bikes with an engine, he’s carrying the torch and doing the family name proud by racking up multiple amateur titles across the nation. Max was coming into the California Classic with a huge target on his back after dominating the field last year. He was able
to grab three titles in 2015 in the 65cc classes as well as a second place in the 85cc 9-11 Mod class. Since then he’s been stacking up number one plates for fun, winning the 65cc 10-11 class at Mammoth and Loretta’s. The turn of the new year marked a transitional phase in the career of the young rider as he has outgrown the 65cc machines that he was so dominant on and looks to prove his speed in the 85cc and SuperMini classes. It only took a couple of months into the new year for Max to showcase that speed, claiming two number
one plates in both 85cc classes at the GNC Motocross Final at Oak Hill. After putting in results well below his potential at the Freestone
Spring Championships, he’ll be looking to bounce back and recreate his success from last year in his home state of California.
