Mitchell Falk led the assault for the Orange Brigade KTM at the california classic this year. He was practically untouchable all weekend long just as he has been throughout the 2016 season so far. He finished first overall in every class that he entered, winning every moto in the Schoolboy 2 class and only finishing off the podium once in nine separate motos. The Schoolboy 2 class turned out to be an ideal weekend for the californian, pulling the
holeshot in the first two motos and turning the fastest lap of the race in the first one. On Friday, he rode a lonely race at the front of the pack and eventually stretched out a 13.6 second lead over Austin Walton in second. The second moto proved to be a bit more challenging despite the start as Falk had to deal with the hard charging Jordan Bailey towards the end of the race. Bailey was making up time on Falk after moving into the second position late
in the race, but the KTM rider paced himself perfectly and came over the finish line with a .8 second lead over the Team Green rider. In the third moto, Mitchell had to carve his way through the likes of Ciaran Naran and Austin Walton early in the moto after starting in third place, but by lap four he had shot into the lead while simultaneously posting the fastest lap of the weekend set in the Schoolboy 2 class. In the 250 B class, Falk started off on Friday with yet another holeshot and yet another dominating win. It’s got to be scary for the other riders when they peer across the track over a jump and see Falk cruising comfortably at the front of the pack, putting a cushion between himself and second place.
