been launched, watched from afar the chaos that was ensuing. Skating around the first turn, the field began to sort themselves out prior to the opening stripe. It was Mason Gonzales, cutting the field off and heading right for the haybales on the inside of
turn one. Leading the first lap, a huge mishap would occur in the Fort Walton Beach resident’s corner, moving Pierce Brown into the lead, with Jo Shimoda in tow. The two would pace each other, Shimoda staying just far enough back to study the lines of the number 63. It would be a waste of paper however, as Brown would continue to take the class to school, crossing the line first, with Jo Shimoda second, and Roanoke, Texas’ Yamaha Pilot, Grant Harlan claiming the third position. For division number two, it truly was the Seth Hammaker show. It was though a spotlight had been cast by a helicopter above, chasing the bandit on the loose. He was gone, and the only hope of occupying the first position, in anyone else’s case, was by that of his own misfortune. Not today my friends, as Hammaker would go on win by an astonishing thirteen seconds! Parker Mashburn and Jesse Flock would finish second and third. Pierce Brown had watched the latter heat, making sure to memorize Hammaker’s every move. It worked, for a while that is, as he continued to gain on Hammaker’s early lead; yet the number 510 never folded under pressure, willing to dis- play the hand he was dealt. Hammaker would continue to lead, eventually resulting in a 1-1 sweep; Brown, although upset, knew he gave all he could, finishing second, and Jesse Flock would bring home the bronze.
