heat, there was a certain Dura- max running through rubbles of first, going by the name of Diesel Thomas. Thomas, holeshot-
ting after throwing his KTM into overdrive, was fighting one of the hottest competitors of the sum- mertime; that of Drew Adams. Adams, although pushing with his elbows-up, hard charging riding style, was just a tick or
two off, letting Diesel secure first gate pick, and Ryder Thompson finishing third. Round number two of qualification, let Kate Johnson show his true colors, honoring the red, white, and blue, immerging independent from the rest of the field. Fauser, running second, saw the number 177, Hideaway, Texas rider, slip away more and more as each lap passed. Now
in parallel lanes, Johnson knew he had a bit of cushion, as he took the final flag. Fauser, would come home second, and Hamer, South Carolina’s Austin Schafer would take third. Now, it was time for the toughest names in both divisions to collide, and Kade Johnson wanted to be consid- ered king of the mountaintop. Clawing his way through these knee deep grooves, Johnson looked as though he had years of professionalism under his belt, as he feathered the clutch with utter precision. Each lap, as Fauser was overtaken, and Adams was on the move, Johson would
pull away, with ultra-aggressive intentions. He would go eight seconds faster than any other rider! Winning the moto in clean fashion, his hard work had paid off, and the idea of resiliency was as apparent as ever. It was now time to relax, and cherish what he had done.
