KILPATRICK
Picking off riders in groups of two, Fegert would close all the way in to the runner-up position. It was here, where Carsten would dig deep, pushing the pace just enough, to where Fegert couldn’t make his way around. A win from Carsten, would put Fegert into second, and Hunter Schlosser third. For division number two, it was Austin Smith who led the field for the first lap, with Ashton Dickinson, Zane Merrett, and Justin Rodbell working their way around. Dickinson, your new leader, charged the corners with blistering intent, mimicking his figure 8 drills on the practice track. Rodbell, the man with a plan, wasn’t settling for anything, and had moved from fifth, past Mer- rett, and into second near the white flag. And although throwing down the fastest lap, on the final go around, it wasn’t enough to depart Ashton Dickinson. The final running order would go as follows: Dickinson, Rodbell, and Crowley, Texas’ Zane Merrett. Justin Rodbell wanted to make the win as easy possible for the main event, and his first “to do” was to rocket off the line, putting every ounce of effort into that initial jump. It worked, pushing Ashton Dickinson a few seconds back by the end of the lap. The tandem, out front as they were in their heat races, had Marco Cannella join the party nearing lap number three. However, it was Rodbell, who continued to focus forward and push towards that ever so delicate flag. His wishes, became reality, and by the last lap, he’d pulled a slight gap, taking the win in decisive fashion over Ashton Dickinson. Cannella, would bring home third. Rodbell, as stoked as ever, took time as always to thank everyone in his corner, and both sponsors and team, couldn’t be more proud.
