JEREMY RYAN / Motocross
Traveling far and wide to attend events like these, yes, the goal is to first and foremost have fun. You want yourself, or whoever is competing to stay safe, and enjoy their time doing what they love. However, there’s a bit of expectation, when you drive all the way from places such as California, missing a holiday with your family. Your team expects you to do well, and to ride up to their expectations.
The amount of money, time, and effort, that’s dumped into an adventure like this, can take a toll on all involved. So for riders like Jer- emy Ryan, based out of Morgan Hill, California, the pressure from within can be evident. It’s how you deal with the inner turmoil, which matters in the end. The first heat, saw Matt LeBlanc scoot to an early gap on the field, letting the back end dance around the pot-hole littered raceway. Jeremy Ryan, second, had LeBlanc in his sights, and watched his every move, seemingly grabbing the back fender of LeBlanc. Although it was actually in his fingertips, he could never thrust forward enough, to move completely around the number 329.
