JUSTIN BRAYTON
The BTO Sports KTM rider had one of the better supercross seasons of his long career in 2016. He rarely finished outside of the top ten and was strong all season long even mixing it up for heat race wins with the likes of Roczen and Dungey. His speed seemed similar to that of 2014 when he nearly held of Ryan Villopoto for what would have been his only career win in Phoenix. The one part of his game that trumped all else was his starts. Brayton was up front at the start of every
gate drop throughout the series and they definitely influenced his good results. However, so far in the outdoor series starts have been his biggest problem. His first lap positions in the first four motos of the year have been 24, 18, 14, and 7. He has been improving each moto and finally nailed a pretty solid start during the second moto at Glen Helen. Despite that better start he fell backwards quickly and ultimately finished twelfth place. If Brayton can figure out his starts and get good ones consistently, he will most likely find his speed and lock in to that top ten.
