WESTON PEICK
Weston Peick hasn’t had the ideal start to the 2016 season. The Auto Trader/JGR Yamaha rider struggled at the opening round at and followed that up with a hard crash resulting in a concussion at Glen Helen. He would miss a round but come back to a decent tenth overall at High Point despite a gnarly endo in the first moto. Even with that better finish, we were beginning to wonder if Peick’s career was beginning to fade a
bit but he shut down those thoughts last weekend at Muddy Creek. He ran up front for the entire first moto and gave everyone a battle en route to a season best fifth place finish. He would end up seventh overall and officially reinserted himself as a consistent top ten and even a top five guy. His physical, strong riding style definitely seems to compliment well with the rough, nasty tracks we see out on the east coast. He’s able to really muscle his machine through the ruts and bumps with ease and that will certainly help him succeed this weekend at Red Bud.
