MITCHELL OLDENBURG
Mitchell Oldenburg hasn’t always been one of the top guys in the sport. When he entered the professional ranks three years ago, he was a privateer who was just trying to make a name for himself. He was never really a dominant amateur rider so he was relatively unknown as a rookie. He didn’t let any of that get him down and he put his head down and put in serious work. In just two years, he went from
a rider that was struggling to consistently finish in the top twenty to a factory ride with Troy Lee Red Bull
KTM. He initially began his role with the team as a fill in rider but the team grew impressed and offered him a full time deal. That confidence boost has surged Oldenburg into a career best year here in 2016. He has quietly enjoyed a solid top ten season so far capped by an impressive sixth place finish a few weeks ago at High Point. No matter what kind of start he gets, Oldenburg always seems to find himself just inside or around the top ten and we will more than likely continue that trend this weekend at Red Bud.
