IMAGES / LAKE KILPATRICK
It’s easy to see, Adam is getting more confident and more motivated with each passing week. In the first practice at Redbud, he was flying and it was not a surprise when he ended up a half a second faster than the rest of the field. The second practice did not go as well for Adam, as he notoriously hit the ground. Nevertheless, his time in the first session was good enough for the number 1 gate pick. Unfortunately, Adam did not get the greatest start but had made his way into the top ten by the end of lap one. It seemed
his lighting fast qualifying speed was now missing when it counted the most. He put in consistent laps but none
of which matched the speed he is capable of. He maintained 8th place for most of the moto with just a few position shuffles here and there. With three laps to go, Adam finally seemed to re-kindle his spark and was able to pass Oldenburg for 7th place. Adam was not able to make up anymore time and had to settle for 7th. In the second moto, he was determined to get a better start and it looked as though he would come out top three in the first corner. Unfortunately, he was pinched off and came around just inside the top ten. By the mid way point, Adam had picked up one position due to another riders mistake and was putting down solid smooth laps just like he wanted. Then, another rider’s crash let Adam slip into 7th place. Adam was passed late in the moto but still managed to take 8th place. His finishes would be good enough for 6th overall at Redbud, his best overall of 2016.
