Cameron McAdoo showed top 5 speed in both practice sessions, cementing himself as one of the pre-race favorites with a fastest lap time of a 1:08 flat in the final qualifier. His Motoconcepts’ Honda was dialed in on the daunting downhill start as he came away with the holeshot in the first race. McAdoo led Orange Brigade’s Mitchell Falk for the first half of the race, but eventually lost the lead in the rhythm section coming out of the
stadium. Challen Tennant was able to capitalize off a mistake in the same rhythm section and demote McAdoo back to the final spot
on the podium. The rider out of Iowa made another mistake on the final lap which demoted him back to 7th position where he finished
the race, potentially thinking that his chance at an overall had gone away with a finish outside of the top 5. The start of the second race was complete carnage; fortunately for McAdoo, he got off to another holeshot and avoided the mayhem behind him. The second holeshot secured him a brand new Toyota truck and he was able to cruise off into the distance ahead of 2nd placed Jayce Pennington by setting some of the fastest lap times of the evening in the Amateur All-Star Class. It was apparent he was feeling the flow in the second race, throwing huge whips over the triple and the finish line jump. McAdoo put on a clinic in the second moto, using the clear track ahead of him to ride a smooth, smart race and write his name in the history books as a winner in one of the most coveted events in amateur motocross.
