Stilez Robertson put himself out there as a pre-race favorite with the second fastest lap time in qualifying, setting a 1:13.7. The start of the first race went well for the Team Green rider as he got out to the front of the pack early on and attempted to break the field. Robertson was looking comfortable at the front of the pack as he attempted to gap Carson Mumford and Seth Hammaker, but he didn’t quite have the pace to
leave them behind. On the 2nd lap, Robertson went wide and Hammaker went inside in the 180 degree corner before Monster Alley and Robertson had to take evasive action to avoid the block pass maneuver of Hammaker. He lost a second or two during this incident and was never able to make the time back up, keeping Mumford at bay in 3rd and slowly letting the number #5 of Hammaker disappear at the front of the field. He finished in 2nd place, approximately 4 seconds behind his fellow Kawasaki rider and put himself in a good position going into the final moto. The second moto was no different as he started in 2nd place behind the Geico Honda of Mumford, but this time Mumford looked more controlled at the front of the field. He put his four-stroke machine in the fast lines and kept Robertson behind him for the first couple laps, allowing Hammaker to close up onto the back of their battle. The three of them went at it for a couple of laps, but Robertson was eventually able to pass Mumford through the rhythm section exiting the stadium as the Honda rider was experimenting with a different line. Hammaker crashed out of contention after making a couple small mistakes and Robertson went on to join the history books as a Supermini Monster Energy Cup overall winner.
