NICO IZZI
It’s been a while since we’ve seen the number 341 on the amateur mx scene. The original Michigan native was once a supreme ruler amongst minicycle results sheets across the nation, racking up numerous titles at every event he attended. The Suzuki rider could instill fear in each of his competitors just by
rolling through the gates of any particular facility he decided to set foot on.
With his professional debut occurring at Spring Creek in 2007, Izzi looked to be on a clear path to becoming a staple amongst the greats. However, a horrendous crash at the 2009 Jacksonville Supercross seemed to lure his fate into abominable blizzard of doom.
Each year more problems seem to occur for the once-superstar, creating a domino effect of unfortunate events. But he was given an opportunity, a second chance so to speak; either let the past dictate what was to come in the future – or rebound, and force adversity to take it’s mask off, overcoming defeat and seeking victory. The latter has been chosen, as he dug through the mud and found his roots again at Freestone.
