PHIL NICOLETTI
Phil In Phil Nicoletti has had his ups and downs throughout the years but has shown without a doubt that he can hang with the best riders in the world at times. Nicoletti got the nickname Phil In Phil because of his role on his JGR Yamaha team. The whole Joe Gibbs team liked what they seen in the #34 but they couldn’t offer him
a full time ride either, No other teams offered Phil a contract that would put him on such prestige equipment
so he signed his deal with JGR. The contract was for a fill in ride, meaning that if one of the full time riders where to get injured then Phil would be able to take their spot on the starting gate until they where able to return to racing. Even though Nicoletti wasn’t able to compete full time he was grateful for his opportunity to race for the team and gave it his all each time lined up. The deal between the two has seemed to work great for them both this far and each year we end up seeing Phil behind the gate more often.
