Like so many times before, Marvin put in a solid start to the day coming out in moto one in 4th, holding the position from the get go. There, Musquin began to ride his own race, distanced from the lead three and separated from the
rest of the field. Slowly, Marvin began to
real in the blue bike of Barcia. Shortly after the first five minutes of the race, Musquin made his move on the fellow contender and reached his own hand into the podium pot to grab 3rd. Con- tinuing to maintain his own pace in 3rd, the KTM rider was almost able to capitalize on a mistake by Eli Tomac just as the races final minutes un- folded. Marvin kept the #3 within reach well into the final two laps yet was forced to settle in the final podium spot for, debatably, Marvin’s best career moto in the 450 class. Riding on cloud nine, Marvin used the same technique in moto two to holeshot out of the gate with Andrew short and the Yamaha’s of Barcia and Nicoletti.
