With a strong start, coming out of the shuffle in 5th behind Webb, Savatgy’s day started on a good note. As the early laps unfolded, following Cooper’s lead, Savatgy made it by Mitchell Oldenburg for 4th and it was, like so many times before, the leading Monster Energy Kawasaki rider alone to con- tend the blue crew of both Martin’s and Webb. Needing to latch on before the blue guys got away, Savatgy closely followed Webb for the next few laps. Eventually losing sight of the #17, Savatgy
rode the majority of the moto in a very lonely 4th place. It wasn’t until the final laps that Savatgy came within
a bike length or two of Alex Martin, who had tipped over with three to go, but ran out of time when the checker was waved.
