Christophe Pourcel had one of best performances of the season last weekend at Southwick and intended to keep things going at Millville. He was as fast as always in qualifying practice throwing down the third fastest lap time of
the class. He was ready to keep up that pace for the races. Moto one was a quiet but good one for Pourcel as he ripped a fifth place start and quickly locked down the position. He stayed steady during the first lap chaos and continued doing so throughout the race. No one threatened him and he could not close the gap on the four riders in front of him so he would finish right there in fifth. The second moto started just like the first with Pourcel coming out of turn one in fifth place. This time he bounced around a bit getting passed by Roczen while making several passes of his own. Once the dust settled after those first few laps he found himself in third position. He held on to the spot for a few laps before Eli Tomac came rocketing around the outside after the sand whoops sending the Frenchman back to fourth. Pourcel used the rest of the moto to build a sizable cushion between him and the rest of the pack leading to a great fourth place moto finish. He would end up 5-4 for a season best fourth overall. Pourcel is quickly gaining momentum and will be a podium threat the remainder of the season.
