MITCHELL OLDENBURG
Mitchell Oldenburg has solidified himself as a top dog here in 2016. The Texas native never gave up on his dream of being one of the top guys and now he has finally made it. Oldenburg began his career as a privateer three years ago and he only managed to finish in the top twenty overall one time. He didn’t get discouraged and he kept grinding and improving every time he threw a leg over the bike. In 2014 he did
better and his results hovered right around the top fifteen. He raised eyebrows in Supercross in 2015 with some solid rides and top ten finishes and that let to a fill in spot with Red Bull Troy Lee Designs KTM for the outdoors. He continued his improvement and started finishing closer to the top ten and nailed an eighth overall as a season best. And finally this season he has truly emerged. He
has thrown together some stellar motos battling inside the top five and always in the thick of the battle. The one part of his game that is still not perfected is his consistency. His overall results don’t jump out at you this season because he has struggled putting together two strong motos. The time he did that this season he got sixth overall. So if he can figure out how to string two motos together consistently, he’ll be finishing deep inside that top ten.
