ALEX MARTIN
Alex Martin is coming into Millville in a very unique position alongside his brother and defending champion, Jeremy Martin. The two of them grew up merely fifty yards away from the famed Millville sand rollers. Normal kids went to bed fearing the Boogey Man was lurking around in their closet or peering out from under their bed, but the Martin brothers had to worry about the infamous Whoop Monster rearing it’s ugly
head in their bedrooms. The two of them will be looking to defend their home track from the current domination of the series points leader, Cooper Webb. AMart only has one moto victory in his entire career although he snagged the overall victory at Glen Helen earlier this year with a pair of 2-2 finishes. He left the second round at Glen Helen with the red plate, but things have gone sour for Alex in the championship chase since the series came east to Mt. Morris. He had a bike malfunction in the first moto in Pennsylvania, he has crashed out of podium contention multiple times since then, and his starts have hindered his ability to battle
for moto victories. One thing that has been consistent is the speed that Martin has shown at every single round of the series thus far. More often than not, he is the fastest guy on the track and has the pace to win races, but he’s yet to put everything together and grab that elusive moto victory. He’s yet to pull a hole shot this year and he has never finished on the podium at his hometrack of Millville in his professional career - two things that he’ll be looking to change this Saturday when the gate drops in Minnesota.
