AUSTIN FORKNER
Austin Forkner will be absolutely beaming with confidence coming into Millville after scoring the best
result of his professional career last weekend at Southwick. He earned 3rd place overall with a very impressive 2nd place in the last moto that saw him keep pace with Cooper Webb in the opening laps, even attempting to pass the 250 Supercross champ. The 17 year old got his first chance to spray champagne at the crowd on the historic sands of the Wick. Ironically, the other race in which Forkner landed on the podium was at Glen Helen which was being described as a “man’s track.” The 17 year old kid is showing up some of the older riders in the class with raw speed, grit, and unbridled determination. Once he reigns in the youthful exuberance and learns to keep his Pro Circuit Kawasaki on two wheels for the whole thirty minute moto plus two laps, he’ll be a force to be reckoned with. If he can emulate the holeshot that he pulled at Red Bud, the confidence that he would have gained from the race at the Wick might be enough to propel him to a moto win. It may seem like a far-fetched possibility, but the rookie is proving time and time again that he has the pace to run at the front of the field.
