Following some heated battles for the top ten in the Supermini class last year at Loretta Lynn’s Ranch, Levi Kitchen made the jump to the Schoolboy division for the 2018 racing season. The Yamaha rider immediately made an impact at the JS7 Freestone Spring Championship after he scored a third place overall in ultra competitive 125cc (12-16) division, upping his confidence in preparation for the 2018 FMF Cal Classic. The Washington native impressed on his YZ125 at Pala Raceway throughout the second weekend in April, finishing both the FMF 2 Stroke Challenge class and the Schoolboy 1 division in third place overall. Kitchen’s consistency between motos earned him his spot on the overall podium, finish- ing no worse than fifth in all of his motos but one. The Yamaha rider didn’t make it to the top step of the podium, but he recorded second place results in both the FMF 2 Stroke Challenge class as well as the Schoolboy 1 division, beating out some of the top factory talent in the process. Things are only going to get better for the Washington native as he continues to adapt to the bigger bike and he’ll definitely be one to keep an eye on as the remainder of the racing season develops.

Six. That’s the number of champion-
ships that Seth Dennis had racked up throughout the Daytona RCSX, Spring A Ding Ding, and the JS7 Freestone Spring Championship. The Florida native had completed the expedition from one side
of the country to the other, ready to do battle on the west coast. He contested
five classes at the 2018 FMF Cal Classic and came away with two more champion- ships, bringing his tally throughout the spring races to eight. The Team Dunlop Elite racer showed his speed in the 51cc divisions as usual, finishing on the podium in four out of six motos with a third place in (7-8) Limited and a first place in the Open (6-8) division, eventually awarding him the title. His speed on the KTM 65 couldn’t go unnoticed either as the little ripper tore up both of the (7-9) classes, earning a total of two victories and an additional three podi- um finishes. He won his final two motos in the Limited division in order to win the title, building off of a third place finish in the first moto. The Orange Brigade rider’s outright speed was unquestionable throughout the entirety of the spring and he’s proven that he’s a surefire championship challenger no matter the occasion.
