JETT REYNOLDS
Team Dunlop Elite’s Jett Reynolds has
earned an exceptional reputation for himself throughout the extent of his amateur career. The longtime Team Green Kawasaki rider is already one of the winningest riders in Loretta Lynn’s history and he’s not even off of 85s, fur- ther establishing how dominant he has been at the Ranch. Reynolds started the 2018 season with a couple of dominant performances in the Monster Energy Amateur Supercross at Angel Stadium of Anaheim, winning a total of four classes including the Schoolboy class aboard his supermini. He encountered a slight setback at the next Amateur Supercross in Phoenix, but Reynolds bounced back just in time for the spring events and ended up bringing in four championships. He was extremely impressive at the JS7 Freestone Spring Championship
in late March as the Californian took over the state of Texas. The Team Dunlop Elite rider won the 85cc (9-13) division, the Mini Sr. 2 class, and he even edged out the competition in Supermini 1. He was looking to lay down a repeat performance at the 2018 FMF Cal Clas- sic and he started the weekend in exceptional form, winning two of his first motos. Reynolds was undefeated in the second motos when
he had a scary crash in the Mini Sr. 1 divi- sion, forcing him out of competition for the remainder of the event. Reynolds stated on his Instagram that he sees this as a small hiccup and he’ll be back stronger than ever -- and we don’t doubt him.
MIKAH CARPENTER
It’s unquestionable that Mikah Carpenter is one of the favorites to take the victory everytime he lines up on the gate. The young Cobra rider has amounted quite a resume of success in the 51cc ranks and he upheld that reputation at the Daytona RCSX at the beginning
of March. He contested both the (4-8) and (7-8) divisions and was involved in some titanic battles with Seth Dennis throughout the week- end, swapping positions at the front of the field. Carpenter suffered a DNF in the second 51cc (4-8) main event and was nursing a little bit of an injury, but he was able to push through and come out on top in the (7-8) class. He successfully defend- ed and backed up his championship from the previous year at the World Center of Racing, proving himself as one of the top guns in the 51cc class another year running. He has stayed relatively quiet throughout the 2018 racing season thus far, but it’s safe to say the youngster will be adding to his trophy cabinet before the season’s end.
