LANCE KOBUSCH
Lance Kobusch tasted his first victory at the famed Loretta Lynn’s Ranch in only his first year of competition, winning the 51cc (4-6) class in 2008. A couple of years later, the Missouri native hooked up with Team Green Kawasaki and he’s been hurled under the amateur moto- cross spotlight ever since, collecting podiums and number one plates at vari- ous race events around the country. The last couple of years have been marred by injury for the former Team Dunlop Elite rider, but his happy-go-lucky attitude has kept things moving in the right direction and he’s still found an abundance of success since moving up to the bigger bikes. Kobusch proved his prowess in the B class last year at the beginning of the season, claiming number one plates at the Daytona RCSX, the JS7 Freestone Spring Championship, and a number of overall podiums at Mini O’s. The Team Green Kawasaki rider has spent the beginning of the 2018 season fighting at the front of the pack in the A class and earning his Road to SX points, keep an eye out for him in a stadium near you sooner rather than later.
CANYON RICHARDS
Canyon Richards spent the majority of the 2017 racing season on the podium in one capacity or another, starting with a third place overall in the 51cc (4-8) Limited class at the Daytona RCSX. The New Jersey native proved himself as one of
the fastest riders in the 50cc division no matter the locale, winning titles at both the Baja Brawl and The Motoplayground Race at Ponca City. The Cobra rider ended the 2017 racing season with a bevy of accom- plishments at the 46th annual Thor Winter Olympics, claiming the overall victory in the 51cc (7-8) Limited Motocross division as well as multiple podiums throughout the week. Richards has since gradu-
ated to the 65cc class fulltime in 2018 and looks to make an immediate impact, showing his potential at the beginning of the new season with a couple of Amateur Arenacross victories. There have been multiple showings of race winning poten- tial from Richards throughout the spring races in 2018, constantly fighting for the top five and the podium during the month of March. He had an uncharacteristic week at the JS7 Freestone Spring Cham- pionship, but he has proven his mettle on multiple occasions and it’s easy to predict that he’ll bounce back stronger than ever.
