HARDY MUNOZ
Coming into 2018, Hardy Munoz was ready to take that next step. Although his career up until this point had seen many solid rides, and noteworthy performances, he felt that he had more to give. Riding with that mentality, he worked as hard as possible, priding himself on attention-grabbing sprint speed, and razor-like focus. And it didn’t necessarily catch anyone by surprise
at the RC Daytona Amateur SX, but
it most certainly captivated those in attendance. Three finishes in the top ten, with a second in 450 B, had him slowly but surely building the confidence needed to make a statement at the JS7 Freestone Championship. It worked as he absolutely lived up to the standard he’d set for himself, with three top ten’s, and a two overall podiums (second and third in respective B divisions). Munoz
is a legitimate contender for titles as the year continues on, as he’s ready to prove to both himself and others that he’s gunning for the top.
LUKE FINEIS
Zionsville, Indiana’s Luke Fineis
went on a hot streak of successful results over the course of the spring races. The Fly Racing/WPS backed rider hadn’t won a major title leading up to the 2018 racing season, but
he quickly got the monkey off of his back at the Daytona RCSX, bagging two separate titles before leaving
the World Center of Racing. Fineis moved onto Spring A Ding Ding at Underground MX and finished all three of his classes on the podium, easily adding another number one plate to his collection. Despite his incessant run of domination, the KTM rider stepped it up another notch as he moved onto the JS7 Freestone Spring Championship, truly finding a groove as he trounced the competi- tion. Fineis went six for six through- out the weekend and came away with a trio of number one plates, capping off the spring events in fine style. He has since moved forward to find suc- cess at the Lincoln Trail Motosports Area Qualifier, taking the overall in three out of four C classes.
