Hoping to recover some points and is overall, Austin came out a bit stronger in moto two, placing himself inside the top ten from the start. Behind Webb, Austin somehow put in work after the first few laps of the race by exploiting the mistakes of Tonus, Ciancurulo and Webb to reach 4th. Near the halfway mark, Austin falls
to 5th as Savatgy gets by. The points leader goes down shortly after, tipping over in a rut, and Austin had made his way back into 4th with Webb, now, breathing down his neck. On his run to a second moto victory, Webb wasn’t following Forkner and utilized the mo- mentum of the #17 machine to make his way around Austin, again pushing the prodigy to 5th. With mere minutes left in the race, Smith made some mistakes in 4th and ultimately dropped to 6th, opening the spot for Forkner and his fifth top five moto of the season. Earning a 7th overall in the unbelievably tense 250 class, the freshman Phenom is 6th in points after five rounds and looks to round six in Red Bud to inch his way by Osborne in 5th.
