Martin Davalos has struggled at the last three rounds but came into Foxboro determined to get back on the podium. The Rockstar Husqvarna rider put forth a solid qualifying effort in the mud. He notched the third fastest time and had a little spunk in his step heading to the night show. The heat race wasn’t kind to Davalos as he cross-rutted in turn two going down into the tuff blocks. He remounted and had to get going if he wanted to qualify straight through to the main event. He started passing riders left and right with ease and managed to not only crack the top nine, but also get all the way up to fourth. It was a great ride on a tough track and he was more than ready for the main event.
