Davalos got out to a decent start in the main event rounding lap one in fourth place. He immediately latched onto the rear wheel of Bowers and made the move on lap three. He took a little longer than he would have liked to get around Bowers and now had to make
up ground on the two leaders McElrath and Stewart. He started inching away lap after lap and eventually made it a three-way duel for the lead. McElrath got held up just a bit by a lapper allowing Davalos an easy way by moving right behind Stewart. Once in second, it didn’t take him long to make the move on Stewart for the lead on lap nine. But while all this battling was happening, Jeremy Martin snuck into second just behind Davalos and put the pressure on. Martin hounded Davalos and it looked like a pass was inevitable but Davalos was able to weather the storm and stretch the lead back out in the final two laps. It was a fascinating win for Davalos and just what he needed to regain his confidence with two more races left to go.
