Coming into round fifteen of the Monster Energy Supercross Ryan Dungey had the ability to lock down the championship unfortunately for him his night didn’t go as planned. the Red Bull KTM rider was the first to even think about blitzing the whoops in the days earlier timed qualifying, due
to really tough track conditions caused by the rain. Looking the most in control through the deep mud it looked like it was shaping up to be another flawless night for Dungey, especially after qualifying first. Dungey, to no surprise, gets the holeshot in his heat race, but it got red flagged because of a gate malfunction. On the second go round of the heat race Dungey ,once again, gets the holeshot. Quickly after the start Roczen passed him for first and Dungey was unable to make the pass back and transfers onto the main in second place. Showcasing just how consistent he is, Dungey got himself yet another holeshot of the night in the Main Event.
