TYLER BOWERS
Tyler Bowers was thought to be
a threat for the championship coming into the
2016 East Coast series. Unfortunately, Bowers had so much time off last year he is struggling to finish the Main Events strong. Tyler had so much time off last year due to Epstein Barr, but is getting back up to speed. Bowers turned
pro in 2008 after a successful amateur career and finished 6th overall in his
rookie season. Tyler jumped on a 450 for ‘09 and had some impressive results in outdoor motocross,
even jumping into the
top ten at times. In 2010,
he went on to race the Arenacross series and was very successful, scoring 4 championships in 5 years. He now is under one of the most prestigious tents in the pits and is carrying the very heavy Pro Circuit Kawasaki pressure on his shoulders. Since signing with the
team, he has struggled
with injury and illness but seems to finally be healthy for 2016. This year, Tyler has been riding tight in the Main Events but still shows brilliant speed at times.
He laid down the fastest qualifying time last weekend in St. Louis and it will not
be a surprise if he does it again this weekend. Bowers embraces the pressure of Supercross, and uses the nerves to get motivated on Saturdays. It seems he is getting more comfortable
as the season goes on and should be able to break into the top 5 this weekend in Massachusetts.
