Justin Starling kept his solid season rolling as the season headed to the New England region of the
country. The track was messy in practice but he managed to eek out the fifteenth fastest time and
was locked and loaded for the night show.
The track was much cleaner come race time and Starling took advantage. He did not get the best jump out of the gate but he snuck around the inside of the first two turns to somehow come out in fifth place. But before the lap was over, he got shuffled back a few positions into seventh. He bounced back by getting around The Viewing rider Darryn Durham halfway through but then was quickly passed by a motivated Martin Davalos sending him right back to seventh. It looked like Starling would finish there but he charged forward for one more spot getting around Soubreyas on the final lap for sixth and a ticket to the main.
Starling did not get a good start in the main and couldn’t use that inside magic to make up for it. He came around deep in the field in fourteenth place. The track was tough to pass and Starling noticed that right away, as he was only able to make two passes by the halfway point. Sitting in twelfth late in the race, he wasn’t satisfied and made another charge slicing his way up to eleventh where he would end up finishing. It was a pretty solid ride from the Florida rider and was a season best finish. He has slowly been garnering momentum over the last three rounds and will look to keep that momentum going into the last two.
