RESULTS DONOTLIE
were prepared as a team, to take on this challenging track. Kreglow would rocket
out of the start, his feet on the pegs and his weight being transferred to the back end of the motorcycle. Pumping the chassis on the track like a BMX bike, he could pivot and move the frame wherever he wanted, never once slowing down at a large jump headed his way. He had his work cut out for him though, rounding the first lap in tenth. But it was only a matter of time, shortly thereafter,
largest flowing body of water in the world. Filled with animals of all kinds, dangerous currents, and rising levels around every bend, it’s a treacherous landscape that’s home to some of the most dangerous creatures in the entire world. And if we look across the map of the United States, there’s also another territory entitled Niles, ala Niles, Michigan. And it too, houses one of the most fierce, aggressive competitors on the amateur motocross tour; that of Nolan
Simmons, a rider who’s willing to risk it all in order to capture the vic- tory. He and family made the long drive to the marshlands of Florida,
in order to excel in their natural habitat, that of the motocross course, here at Gatorback Cycle Park. They would sign up for one class in particu- lar, the 51cc (4-6) Shaft Drive Limited, in hopes to walk away with a large piece of hardware. With a three moto format, he would have to be ultra consistent, but he knew he would be up to the task if he could just stay focused. So lining up for moto number one, it was all business between he
and his mechanic. Second off of the line, he would quickly move into first on lap number two. Pushing the pace, he and Beckett Ferry would be going back and forth in a heated battle. But he couldn’t
settle for the runner-up position, and would go back to take the lead
on the last lap! A huge moto win would set him nicely for the second round. For the next out- ing, he would get off to an excellent start, just behind Brayton Kreglow. The Yamaha tandem would pace each other, as Simmons had some killer lines in the back rhythm section. Never one to follow, he would get creative in order to try and make the pass on Kreglow. And after
a hard fought, five lap effort, he would wind up
second, sitting pretty for the last runoff. After a little bit of trouble to begin the third moto, he would fight as hard as possible, truly wearing his heart on his shield. Battling each competitor, he would work his way forward with all of his might. With family and friends proud of his efforts, his overall score would place him in a spectacular second overall!
BECKETT FERRY
If you are familiar with the history of profes- sional motocross, then you most certainly have heard of the Ferry clan, residing out of Southern Florida. With the likes of the great, Tim Ferry being the ringleader, the bunch has produced the line of Evan Ferry, and now another rider has come into the fore- ground of chatter. Beckett Ferry, residing in Dade City, is a name that fans must get ac- customed too, as he’s been putting in solid results race after race, even at the youngest of ages. Whether its blistering the local prac- tice track, or winning the races on Saturday nights under the lights, Ferry is already well on his way to a successful amateur outing, accumulating wins and solid finishes one after another. He would continue his streak at the 2018 Winter Olympics, where a solid start to begin the first moto would lay an excellent foundation for a noteworthy finish. Just behind Nolan Simmons, they would both work their way up into first and second respectively. They would battle, neck and neck, with Simmons going on for the win, and the number fifteen of Ferry cruising to
a solid second place finish. For the second moto, he was third to begin, he would stay consistent, just behind Brayton Kreglow and Nolan Simmons. As the race went on,
until he would work his way up; the tenth was a forgotten matter once the halfway point was coming out, and he would quickly move his way into fourth, and then third re- spectively. He wouldn’t stop there however, as he kept pushing until the last possible second, setting the fastest laptime of the moto. For moto number two, he would set the field ablaze, leading every lap in the pro- cess, setting the fast lap on lap number two, and going on to win by a lucrative fourteen seconds! He hoped, if he could duplicate
his performance for the third round, that
the overall championship would be his. He would do it again, taking the lead, and never looking back, checking out so to speak. Growing the lead to over nine seconds, the race was his to lose by the halfway point; with stellar competition around, he would cross the line, super excited. And the win would be his, taking home the number one plate in championship like fashion.
