possible. He’s been given tons of encour- agement and praise from his crew, and right- fully so. But the young man aspires to be future professional champion, and you can see it through his goggles, as he sits on the starting line, waiting patiently for his number to be called. The first moto had him trying to squeeze as hard as he could into the inside of turn number one, never afraid to throw elbows if he had to bump a fellow competitor out of the way. A third place start had him eyeing the leaders, with furious intent oozing out of his helmet. Keeping the motor in the sound of the pipe, he was launching both wheels off the ground, and then some, as he
in second overall. He would then go onto reiterate his performance for the outdoor portion, riding to the absolute best of his abilities. Leaving it all on the track, he would generate a fifth and second moto score, tal- lying him in the third overall spot.
LANE WILLIS
A champion in all facets of life, Lane Willis has been a competitor from the moment
he stepped foot and saddled up aboard
the motorcycle. Whether it was racing his quickest time on the local practice track, or any competitor in his hometown series, he’s
always searched for big- ger thrill, and stiffer chal- lenge as he climbed the ranks thus far in his short career. With he and fam- ily hearing that the 2018 Winter Olympics would draw a large, superbly talented crowd, they drove from their home- town of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, in hopes of gaining some solid results to add to their resume. Willis, a strong starter in his own right, would come out of the gate ready to go, hyped up on pure adrenaline and taking the lead to begin the initial moto of running. He was dodging every pothole in sight, standing up when
necessary, and using his legs in an efficient manner, in order to save energy. Running up the faces of the jumps
wide open, at the last
second, he would lock up his rear wheel with the back brake, and quickly throttle out down the other sight. Pushing forward, he would slowly start to feel a bit of pressure from Tatum Michales; the number 20 would come forth, getting around Lane in a hard fought battle. But rather than fall into a lull of complacency, Lane would hold strong in the runner- up spot, knowing just how good a second place was in the realm
soared over every tabletop he could. Skim- ming the rollers to the best of his abilities,
he was trying his hardest to catch the first two members of the pack, and was doing a great job doing so. And when the checkered flag would come about, he would be sitting rightfully in the third position. For the second moto, a second place start would have him wedged in between that of Tatum and Colt, fighting tooth and nail for his claim on the podium. In a Cobra sandwich of sorts, he was avoiding the attack of the number 113 behind, all the while lunging for the number 20 ahead. With the fans on their feet, the jousting for the lead was immaculate, and the crowd couldn’t believe the intensity these riders were showing. It would come down to the white flag. Could Martin hold Willis off for second? Only time would tell...And as the halfway mark of lap five would appear, it was as though he would. As both competitors looked over at one another, it was an all out sprint to the finish. And he would come away with it! An outstanding ride, would place him

of scoring. He would go on to finish in the runner-up position, ready to go for the run- off portion of the event. Third off the line to begin the second moto, immediately it was a battle for the lead, as Michales, Martin, and Willis were all in a battle of one, two, and three. Throwing a blanket over the group, they were truly neck and neck around this track for a series of laps. It was an all out as- sault for these three Cobra riders, each one roosting the other. With dirt pellets bouncing off of his chest, the number 113 would keep the throttle pinned, never losing sight of the two guys literally just in front of him. Coming through on the last lap, it really was such a close race, that only the transponder could judge who would finish first. An exceptional ride, Willis would finish third, bringing home a spectacular third place ride.
BRAYTON KREGLOW
Panama City Beach, Florida, a place that
is known for their partying and spring break antics, also plays home to a rider that’s quite the contrary, in comparison to their “fun-filled” notion. Brayton Kreglow is a rider who’s as serious about his craft as they come, always being the first to practice and log laps at his local raceway. He works hard with his training off the motorcycle, always staying active, and is truly thankful for the sponsors and support around him. And as the 2018 Winter Olympics approached, both he and team decided to make the trek a
bit east, to the town of Gainesville, where some of the fast riders in the nation would take aim for their shot at a highly coveted national title. So, as the sea of blue lined up behind this gate, all riders and mechanics
