however, Reid Cone would be hounding him from behind. Now, to be expected, most at a young age would bow down slightly and may get distracted; not Ferry however, showing the true colors of his resilient roots, he would fend off Cone for every lap of the moto. It would pay off, as the checkered flag flew, he would take away a strong third place finish. For round number three, it was Kreglow, Cone, and Ferry duking it out for the podium finishes. It was a sea of blue out front, the three looking riders under the factory tent for the duration of the moto. Wheeling beside each other through the roller sections, Ferry was really feeling the momentum of this beast of a machine below him, and control- ling the number fifteen to a great extent. Coming across the line in third, it would put him in a superb third overall, the bronze medal tied proudly around his neck. He would be super excited on his performance and rightfully so, as we can’t wait to see just how well he follows in the footsteps of those who share his last name.
RYDER ELLIS
As one of the Cobra Motorcycle brands leading riders, Ryder Ellis and crew came
to Northern Florida looking for a plethora of titles and solid finishes, signing up for an ar- ray for classes. The number 877 Cobra was poised to be out front, and all in the class knew that he would be a serious contender, once the gate would drop and the flags would fly. It would begin in the 50cc (4-8) Limited, as he led the first moto and wouldn’t ever bat an eye at the competition. Putting in solid lap after lap, his speed throughout
these bowl turns was truly astounding, standing up just after the apex and shooting out of the bottom of the bowl. Hitting every double and tabletop imaginable, his times would continue to flourish, as he would
take the checkered flag with flying colors.
He wanted to duplicate his performance for round number two, and he would do so. After a hard fought effort, he would be setting himself up for the win rather nicely, doing so, and cleaning house with a perfect one, one sweep of the class. The (7-8) class was up next, where he too would come out swing- ing for the first moto. Establishing the lead, he would set the tone
early, never whiffing a
fume of anyone in the
class. Pushing forward
in consecutive fashion,
he would receive praise
from his mechanic with
applause and towel
waving as they came
around. Another win
would be added to the
stat sheet, as he eyed
the runoff to claim title
number two. And what
he would wish for, he
received, getting out to
a lead after some hard
fought battling, leaving
everyone in atten-
dance knowing who the
number 877 was. After
the white flag would be
waved, he would believe
the race was his to lose;
crossing the checkered, he would be saluted
from the crowd, as they were very impressed with his performance. He would continue his as- sault on the motocross tour of the event, taking two early moto wins in the 50cc classes, and
a third in the 65cc (7-9) division. The North Fork native would simply go on to terrorize every divi- sion he entered, putting up an astonishing four moto wins! A streak that was merely unheard of at this age and skill level, his consistency was be- yond apparent. He would take the championship in both the (4-8) and (7-8) limited class.
COLE BLECHA
Making their way across the amateur mo- tocross circuit, the Blecha family has once again followed their successful ways, and this time transplanted from their home of Fruita, Colorado, to the likes of Gainesville, Florida. With the youngest of competitors, Cole, paying his dues in the 50cc divisions, he wanted to put his Cobra machine to the front of the field. Not only to best the other riders in his class, but to have bragging rights back at the camper, seeing if could best the finishes of the other Blecha, Dil-

lon. An assassin aboard the number 525 machine, he air raided an assault with series of first moto finishes in supercross, including sixth, third, and first. He would placed behind the gates with an excellent positioned, varying his stance up ever so slightly with each particular race. They toyed with gates with a direct point to the inside
of turn number one, and those closer to the doghouse. But displaying his true ability and excellent starting technique, he would pull great opening positions from anywhere on the grid. He was even excelling aboard the manual transmission, 65cc machine. Starting off in seventh for the run-off, he would barrel through the pack, weaving his way in and out of intense traffic. Throwing caution to the wind, he would soar through the wind, mak- ing his way into the top four (and at times, battling for third). It would be an excellent effort, and one to be remembered by his sponsors; he would come away with a fourth place finish, and ready to excel aboard the smaller machines. The streak of excellence
