the week and weekend’s, both on and off the bike, making sure all areas of his racing expertise and craft were addressed. So when walking to the line for the commence- ment of supercross festivities, he would feel assured he could get the job done. Signing up in an array of 85cc classes, he would have multiple chances to make an impact on the event, and man would he come through with flying colors. With his machine and gear choice armed to the hilt with all equipment needed, he would bolster off the line for both the 85cc (9-11) and the 85cc (9-13) ready to storm the field. Paired with riders more his age, he would blister the track in the (9-11)
with a strong third medal, and another silver medal performance. Casey absolutely killed it at this event, and looks to come into 2019 eyeing as many titles as possible
DAXTON BENNICK
When surveying the fans and fellow riders alike upon entrance to the 2018 Winter Olympic nationals, there was a unanimous consensus as to who some of the favorites were to win. Daxton Bennick, rest assured, was at the top of the list. This young man has been on an absolute path of destruc- tion for the last few years, and is steadily
becoming a household name on the amateur tour. The factories are taking notice, sponsors of all facets are offering him contracts, and even the professional teams are keeping an eye aboard his status and how well he is placing, as he’s heavily involved in some of the toughest classes on the roster. And he understood that all effort would have to be given, in order to suc- ceed here at Gatorback. But as any champion would do, he would rise, thriving to the challenge of facing the best from around the globe. En- tering a multitude of classes, he knew consistency would have to be imminent in order to be labeled as the so- called “top dog” of his divi-
sion. Sporting the number 241, he was Trey Canard-esque in his
fashionable winning
ways, taking the su-
percross portion of the event by storm. Fierce in his dashing to the front, he could be found letting the KTM machinery scream beneath him, always in the meat of the pipe and RPM zone. A third overall in the 85cc (9-13) class would be satisfactory, but he
felt he as capable of much more. So when lining up for the strict (9-11) year old class, he wanted to wreak havoc on the field. Battling with the likes of Casey Cochran,
group, surrounded by his usual suspects. Knowing that this was a run-off format, it truly was a winner take all scenario once the heats had concluded. Running with the two men in front of him, he would bring home
a very respectable placing of third overall. Next up, was one of the toughest classes on the ballot; the (9-13) division. It was a class that used to hold a lot of prominence, yet over the past few years, had been deterred as far as Loretta Lynn competition was con- cerned. But the guys at Gatorback brought
it to surface again, and boy did Casey excel against the older classmates; sprinting for the entire run-off of this supercross main event. Never suffering a case of arm pump or fatigue, his work in the gym would truly pay off, as he would garner an outstanding silver medal performance. Yet he wouldn’t stop there, as the field would translate over to the motocross side of things, where he would sport another three, top-ten finishes. A seventh would be a spectacular result against his elders, and he would follow suit

Haiden Deegan, and numerous others, he knew he had to impose his will from the beginning. Doing just that, his wheel tapping antics and scrubbing efficiency would propel him to his first title of the week. With the motocross portion of the event just around the corner, he knew he could flourish, as
the track got rougher. With a bit softer base than years past, he was able to carve his KTM tread throughout many of the corners, and carry his RPM’s rather spectacularly. His worst finish of the motocross portion
you ask? A lucrative third place! This young man couldn’t be stopped, and he too would walk away a dual champion, claiming both of the (9-11) divisions! Stacking the hardware inside the motorhome, these titles would
be added to the plethora of memorabilia at home. Daxton Bennick is well on his way to a successful path in this sport, that’s for certain.
GAVIN TOWERS
Gavin Towers, known as “The Tower of Terror” after this event, looked to make
his presence felt immediately upon arrival to the 2018 Winter Olympics event here
in Gainesville, Florida. You could just see from a distance, that his poise, stature,
and mannerisms were that of a champion, the way he carried himself. Respectful and well-mannered off the track, but as soon
as he strapped the helmet on, all games were off and it was strictly business mode on his quest for championships. He’d been proficient last off-season with arenacross experience, but it was an all too different experience when lining up with riders of this caliber, on a stage such as this. Making the
