Justin Barcia got to preview the track in MetLife stadium on Thursday before the race. He was able to get some visuals for the lines and rhythms and would use it to his advantage going into Saturday. Justin came out of the first free practice in 15th position and knew he needed to step
it up. In the final qualifying session, Justin jumped out to the front and pulled in right behind the usual practice leader, Jason Anderson. He did what he could to learn from the top guys but would eventually end up 18th fastest. He got off to a decent start in 450 Heat 1 and came around the first corner inside the top ten. Unfortunately he could not make the passes he need to and would come up short with spot in the Semi qualifier. In this race, he got off to a top 5 start and quickly got into qualifying position. He would finish in 4th and go on to the Main ready to improve from last weekend. When the Main began, it didn’t go as planned for the Yamaha rider and on the second lap he was running in 16th position. Barcia was able to make up one more position by the finish but was only able to salvage a 15th place in New Jersey.
