In his heat, Dungey finds himself battling with teammate Marvin Musquin in a rush to the holeshot. The two battle briefly – but as Dungey blasts off, James Stewart slips into second, right on Dungey’s heels. For several
laps, Dungey finds himself fighting to keep Stewart off his rear tire. Near- ing the end of the race, Stewart begins to fall back – giving Dungey the chance to get away,
riding on to take the win in the heat.
