A chaotic start would deal Jake Weimer a rough hand in the heat. He would kick off his night in ninth place behind Baggett. He would hold this spot nearly the whole race until moving up to eighth place after passing Hansen in a last lap charge. He would have better luck in the semi – a great start would lead to a battle with Vince Friese. In the second lap, Weimer drops back to sixth behind Friese. The crowd would explode as Friese slides out coming into a turn while Weimer was already committed to his line – this little bang-up left both riders rushing
to get back into the race. Weimer would recover and finish in fifth, -- qualifying for the main.
Weimer would find himself in the middle of a crazy moto, and he would stay right in the thick of it. Fighting constantly to hold on to a solid position, Weimer grit his teeth and battled his way through a grueling main event. Swapping spots with Musquin
and other riders until he managed to secure ninth place overall.
