Festivities
Vigan Longganisa Festival celebrated anually every 22nd of January each
year, rates the festivity of Vigan's cityhood and yearly feast in
aporeciation of St.Paul. It is said that it has an influence of Mexican
Salami, that has been existed ever since the Spanish Colonial Era. It is not
the usual red in color longganisa type we have, but it's more of garlicky
and yellowish which made it taste even better. This has been recognize as
the City's One Town One Product in selection for the government
program. They have been endeavored throughout the decade as the top
Longganisa producer in the country.
Viva Vigan Binatbatan Festival of the Arts or the feast of Natives
celebrated every week of April to the first week of May. It was celebrated
to introduced one of the town industries that kept the spirits of the
residents alive. Iloco Handloom weaving is a process of beating the
cotton pods to remove seeds. This is also showcase in the colorful and
bountiful streetdancing showdown.
