China Slams Supermarkets After Revealing Virus From Vietnam’s Dragon Fruit

Recently, the authorities of China have locked down a lot of supermarkets after they found traces of coron- avirus in some fruits import- ed from Vietnam. According to the reports, the nine Zhejiang and Jiangxi provinces in China have witnessed this adverse effect. They have found samples of the COVID-19 virus in some dragon fruits imported from Vietnam.
The Chinese authorities have started the process of emergency screening of all kinds of imported food prod- ucts and fruits. The fruit buyers are also asked to quarantine themselves even though no trace of coron- avirus is available. The Chinese officials act very cautiously as the virus wave gradually impacts the coun- try.
had banned dragon fruits from being imported from Vietnam until January 26, 2022. The COVID-19 traces were first detected in the Vietnamese dragon fruits in December 2022. The ban was first applicable on the Huu Nghi Border Gate of China. It is situated in the Lang Son province of the country. This gate is the main route of China to receive dragon fruits from Vietnam. Moreover, the container trucks were sent back from another border gate in China, known as Tan Thanh.
So, in this time of pandemic when COVID-19 is again taking a toll worldwide, we need to be very cautious. As China is taking all the preventive measures, we also need to take the nec- essary steps to keep our- selves protected, in whichever part of the world we live in.
