Woman Returns “Dead” Christmas Tree To Costco For Full Refund

- An aghast Costco cus- tomer recounted the tale of another cus- tomer who he said returned her "dead" Christmas tree to the store for a full refund.
"I can't make this stuff up," Scott Bentley wrote in a
Facebook
post that appears to have since been deleted or made private. "Woman in line at Costco, total- ly nonchalant, to return her Christmas tree 'because it is dead' on Jan. 4."
Bentley said the woman was "[shamed] to a small degree"
by employees and other cus- tomers, but the purchase was verified in Costco's system and she was issued a full refund.
"Heartbreaking to think she may have need- ed that money so much, she lost all self respect and dig- nity for it," Bentley wrote.
