Orphan Runs Onto Football Field With His Dogs Instead of Parents For Final School Game
An orphaned col- lege football play- er whose parents died before his final game was escorted onto the field by his two beloved dogs.
Michigan State University corner- back Josh Butler, 23, ran into Spartan Stadium with his boxer-pit bull mixes, Roxie and Remi, on Senior Day on
Saturday.
Senior Day is a college football tradition for play- ers to celebrate the last game of their collegiate careers with their family.
However, Butler lost his father, Steven, in November 2017. Tragically his mother, Ladrida Bagley, also died
in April 2019 after being diagnosed with stage four breast cancer.
On Saturday, Butler emerged from the tunnel one final time to roaring applause – this time accompanied by his canine pals – in a heartwarm- ing moment cap- tured by Michigan State beat writer David Harns.
