Whitehorse Cyclists – AGM reports
President’s – Annual Report 2020
What an eventful and unexpected year we’ve had!
• WCI were honoured to be awarded Whitehorse Sports Club of the Year 2019; recognized for our
contribution to the local community in providing physical activity, social connectedness and
improving mental health.
• Multi-day trips – two trips to Bright: catering for easy, medium and MAD riders, and the annual 4
peaks in 4 days catering for hard riders; in February a hard 8-day ride exploring western Tasmania;
and some members rode with Grace in the Rotary 3 Reservoir Ride around Maryborough in early
March.
• At our November meeting, guest speakers Peter and Linda Carter and Rob Berry primed us all for
cycle-touring Europe – the year to come changed any such plans.
• Plans to revise various riding techniques and skills began with braking skills at the November
meeting. Continued revision of safe riding techniques is planned.
• The Skills and Interests Surveys, returned by members, are proving useful in approaching
volunteers.
• The club’s new uniform was launched in December and over summer more members were wearing
the new design. Members will have another two-week window to order jerseys, knicks, etc when
