• WCI received a Recovery Grant from Whitehorse Council of $324.45 to assist in purchasing
equipment needed to hold Covid-safe social functions (bollards, tape, cleaners, hand sanitizer, etc)
• Whitehorse Cyclists Inc would like to acknowledge and thank Whitehorse Council for their ongoing
support through the grants program for hall hire, function room hire, the Covid Recovery Grant,
and the Community Grant.
On behalf of members, I thank the committee for their commitment to the club in 2020. Ursula Craigie
(Vice-President and Webmaster), Roko Durmanic (Secretary), Soteris Matheou (Treasurer), Shirl Palmer
(Social Secretary), Steve Roberts (Calendogapher) and Terry Ryan (Safety Officer) have been a pleasure to
work with. It is my privilege to be part of the team. We farewell Soteris as treasurer this year and owe him
particular gratitude as he took on the task with a willingness to learn a role new to him. We warmly
welcome Ray Boyle to the committee as Treasurer.
The challenges that this year has thrown us have brought out the best in Whitehorse Cyclists – caring for
each other, finding creative new ways of keeping in touch and having fun despite … lockdowns, social
restrictions, exercise time limits, 5km zones, and a severe reduction in club cycling!
Let’s hope that in 2021 we return to some version of normality.
Jennie Ramage (President) and Committee.

With all committee members returned except for the Treasurer, here is a short bio to introduce Ray Boyle
Ray has been a member since 2015 and remembers starting with the easy ride to see if he could keep up –
he did. He graduated to the Medium group and met many friendly people going on club weekly club rides,
multiday rides and overseas trips to Cuba and Sri Lanka. Ray enjoys the social side of the club and has
found the rides have let him to discover places in Melbourne that he did not know about, let alone ride to.
He has taken active participation, leading rides for the medium group and now volunteered to contribute
as Treasurer.
