• Bruce Easton’s ankle has healed enough to be “out of the boot”. However he won’t be back on the bike
for a while as needing physio etc
One of our early day club members is Mike Taylor who joined WCI in 2001 and many of you will remember
enjoyable times riding with him, sharing local, country and overseas rides together. His humour and
positivity are always a pleasure to share. He has made many friendships through WCI and these continue
today. Due to a series of health issues over the past recent years Mike was not able to ride any longer and
only last year made the decision not to renew his membership. How much he does miss being a part of
Whitehorse Cyclists. Unfortunately. Mike now faces another more serious health challenge as in July this
year he was diagnosed with lung cancer. He is undergoing chemotherapy and is soon to start
immunotherapy. On hearing this news many of the WCI community have expressed their thoughts and
good wishes to him for which he is very grateful, saying again what great people are the Whitehorse
Cyclists and he wants to thank everyone for their care and concern at this time. We wish Mike our very
best wishes for his recovery. Mike’s phone number is 0407 045 217 If you would like to give him a call.
In closing - it has been a good year for very few cycling injuries with our members. Please keep on riding
and riding safely. Hopefully we will be back to riding together sometime soon.

2020 Website Upgrade - report
Here’s the history of the project, and where we are up to:
• the project began under previous committee with David Johnston & Jennie Ramage sitting down
with (enormous piece of) paper and pen, reorganising the ‘filing’ of website material; there’s a
wealth of information but it can be difficult to find;
• continued late 2019 with Ursula & Jennie brainstorming how a new website might look;
• a conversation between Bruce Dite and Jennie seeded the idea of another part of the project. Bruce
was keen to ‘capture’ the rides stored in the ‘grey-matter’ of our older members. Jacques was
clearly very unwell, and we didn’t want to lose the knowledge he had of some wonderful and
favourite club rides;
