The Wizard leaned over to the Prince and whispered to him that this pain he was feeling was unacceptable. That as the ruler, he should not have to endure such discomfort. When the Prince asked the Wizard what he should do to prevent this from happening again, the Wizard said, “Look to the source.”
The Royal Journal recorded that the following day the Little Prince ordered the destruction of all flowering plants. The “Flower Edict,” as it was called by the people of the country, caused much hardship. Soldiers went throughout the country, not only pulling up flowers but also cutting down flowering trees and bushes. They destroyed the flowering plants in gardens and burned the fields of flowering grain crops.

Buster agreed and said, “Without flowering plants, food started to become hard to get. There were still some root crops like potatoes and beets but no corn or fruit or vegetables.”
I remarked that this “Flower Edict,” along with not having doctors, must have caused a lot of problems. “Just the beginning, just the beginning,” replied Buster. And he continued the story.
