Coach Nikki Fargas’ LSU Lady Basketball Tigers made it back to the NCAA Tournament with a top 25 national ranking. They unfortunately ended the season with with their second consecutive “one and done,” but that shouldn’t overshadow the fact that they’ve gotten consecutive bids. It’s always a bitter pill when only one team in the country wins its final game.
Here’s one of those opinions I mentioned earlier. I’ve never been a fan of the NIT. Playing a tournament for essentially 65th, now 69th place just lacks something. But Will Wade’s LSU Tiger Basketball team won a first round game before exiting. Coach Wade’s Tigers went from 10-21 overall; 2-16 in the SEC to 18-15 overall; and 8-10 in the SEC. You’ve got to love the look of that graph.
Here’s to the Men’s and Lady Tiger Basketball teams both following good years with great ones.
Which brings us to Tiger Baseball. The Tigers stand 16-9 overall and 3-3 in the SEC as of this writing. There are still over 30 regular season games to be played. Part of the beauty and frustration of the game is that a victory can start out slowly, as can a championship season.
There’s a lot of good baseball yet to play and, hopefully, another trip to Omaha and World Series win.
