HAPPY AND SAFE HOLIDAYS!
During this festive and joyful time of the year, we need to remain aware of the need for a little extra caution. It is an unfortunate fact that there are some to whom “picking up a few more gifts” means taking packages from other people’s porches and cars. Some actually follow delivery trucks to make it easier!
There are reasonable precautions that can reduce your exposure. DON’T leave packages or pocket books in your car at home, whether or not you lock your car. CHECK your porch and mailbox regularly for packages. Most major on- line sellers give you a tracking number when they notify you your order has shipped. Use it to follow your shipment and know when it is “Out For Delivery” to your house.
Are you going out of town? STOP your mail and paper then: CALL the SECPID VACATION HOTLINE at 753-4260 and leave your information. Your house will be checked by the Sheriff’s Patrol.
And please be careful when you are on the road.. SECPID is proud to be part of Shenandoah and its residents, and look forward to serving you next year. [
SECURITY
Each year during this holiday period, SECPID provides increased Security Patrol hours. This year 15 hours were added for Thanksgiving and another 15 hours are scheduled for the Christmas/New Year period. This is about 4 extra patrol shifts during each of those time periods. On average, SECPID patrols in marked or unmarked EBR Sheriff’s patrol cars in our subdivision nearly 7 hours a day.
SECPID completed a cooperative agreement with two neighboring subdivisions – The Woods and Lake At White Oak - for a camera installation that provides significant coverage of several access routes. The Shenandoah entrance at Jones Creek camera has been upgraded to the latest camera system, and another new camera installation will be installed covering Malvern Hill.
The budget for next year will include 3 new camera installations as SECPID continues to cover more entrances.
The Southeast Advocate’s “Crime Blotter” published in each Thursday’s paper reported ZERO incidents in Shenandoah for the week of November 10-17. Please consider adding your voluntary contribution to supporting these very effective programs benefitting all of our residents. [
