From Little Horses To Big Bucks...
What I learned from the music business was promotion and believe me, it works. Always ready for a challenge I had over the years attended and become friends with the Lolli family, who owned a livestock auction in Macon, Missouri. Jimmy Lolli had worked with me at the Missouri State Fair and he invited me to their first exotic animal sale. When I went there, it was definitely different. They were selling bears, elk, deer, camels and every other animal that might be seen on a visit to a zoo. As I was getting ready to leave, Frank Lolli told me that since I was a horseman, I should get some of the miniature horses. He told me of a group that hadn’t sold and suggested I try to buy them. When I looked at them, they looked like a bunch of un-groomed Shetland ponies.
Frank said to take them home and bring them back fit and ready to sell and they will break the bank. I made a deal with the owner
